Publisher Take-Two Interactive announced another milestone for Grand Theft Auto V with 170 million copies sold and Red Dead Redemption reaching 70 million copies.
In its quarterly earnings call, Take-Two released sales figures for both series to investors. As a franchise, Grand Theft Auto has sold over 385 million of his vehicles, of which 170 million are from his GTA 5.
As @DomsPlaying pointed out on his Twitter, this is less than the “nearly 170 million” referred to in Take-Two’s latest earnings report. In the same report, GTA 5 sold around 5 million copies in his quarter. Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Take-Two EVP of Finance Hannah Sage said the company is only updating her GTA 5 sales by her 5 million unit.
As for Red Dead Redemption, sales have increased by another 2 million units since the publisher’s last earnings call. The franchise, which includes Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, has sold over 70 million copies worldwide.
