Fashion designers are proficient in cutting, stitching and designing garments as per market trends.

What you will learn

In this course you will develop market awareness, learn about basic principles of designing, have knowledge of various types of garments and learn to take measurements for different body parts. You will also learn about the equipment used for dress designing, understand the techniques and sizing of garments, gain knowledge about quality control, follow the given cutting plan, handle sewing machines and get familiar with packing and appropriate display of apparel production.

Training Outcome

After completing this course you will be able to create surface design, make fashion illustrations and technical drawings and practice surface ornamentation techniques (fabric dyeing, painting, screen printing, embellishment). You will also be able to make basic blocks and patterns, cut out patterns, stitch and finish a garment.
