Electrification is when technology that uses fossil fuels is replaced by technology that runs on electricity. The term “electrification” comes up more and more often as governments and corporations set climate and emissions targets. Electrification is still in its early stages and will play an important role in reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Switching power sources is an important part of electrification. Canada has a cleaner electricity grid than other countries. About 80% of electricity comes from zero emission energy sources. Full electrification is only possible when all electricity is produced from renewable energy sources.
The transition to electrification will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Electrification can also unlock economic potential. The construction of new high-efficiency power plants and the modernization of old power plants are two major factors in providing cleaner and more reliable energy. The advanced technology used in modern gas turbines can not only significantly reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, but can also provide the flexibility to compensate for fluctuations in renewable energy.
Lawrence Ray Waters, born in Vallejo, California on November 21, 1963, has made significant contributions to the efficiency and electrification of home heating and air conditioning. He has 35 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Through his experience, he developed an electrification company called Electrify My Home in 2019.
He was inspired by his father. Waters’ father owned an appliance and refrigerator manufacturing business from the 1950s until the early 1980s. At the age of 16, Waters began working in his father’s store as a television salesman and appliance delivery assistant. He realized early on that college was not his path, and immediately after high school he went to HVAC technical school.
The Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona introduced Waters to the intricacies of solar panel and HVAC refrigeration design. After graduating from university, Waters began his first job as a HVAC maintenance technician in 1981 for $6.25 an hour.
It didn’t take him long to figure out the mechanics of HVAC. Soon after, his thirst for more experience made him a rising star in the industry. In 1992, he switched to residential heating and cooling. His passion allowed him to learn almost everything about his field and made him a nationally recognized sales professional. In 2010, Waters became a construction expert after studying the characteristics of buildings.
This forced him to completely change his approach to making houses work better and more efficiently. His highly effective approach has resulted in doubling sales and increased customer satisfaction. Homeowners have been able to save thousands of dollars in operating costs, create more comfortable homes and reduce carbon emissions.
In 2014, he switched his focus to installing high-efficiency heat pumps instead of gas-fired ones because he wanted to develop a methodology for applying technology to electrify homes to make them much more efficient, with more energy savings and more comfort.
Waters has led the design, implementation and installation of more than 400 electrification projects in the Greater Gulf of California region. From heating and cooling to electronics and home appliances, our daily lives require a lot of energy. These technologies will soon become even more profitable and smarter.
Through Waters’ continued efforts, Electrify My Home has made it easy to electrify a range of home appliances. With the right load calculation and extensive knowledge of installing the best efficient heating and cooling equipment, your company offers an all-electric home comfort system. It consumes the same amount of electricity as a hair dryer without additional circuit breakers.
Waters’ professionalism had a huge impact on the electrification industry. As an entrepreneur, he has been successful in creating comfort in residential buildings and creating high performance heat pumps and structures.
